USA vs. Ghana World Cup 2014

What better place to watch the USA take on Ghana in a World Cup grudge match than at a local outdoor viewing party in Accra, Ghana? This was my first World Cup viewing experience outside the US and it didn’t disappoint. The energy was tense and exciting and full of blaring horns. Besides the atmosphere, you couldn’t ask for a better game. 

I’m still not sure what was more exciting, the US win, or just seeing the reaction of the crowd after Ghana’s equalizing goal late in the game.

 

Even though the fans were intense during the match, afterwards they were incredibly friendly and congratulated many of us on the victory.
