Way back in 2009 when I was just a college youth at the University of Wisconsin, I stumbled across the existence of the UW Quidditch team, which practiced (of course) by the Lakeshore dorms on campus. Though I wasn’t a fan of the Harry Potter books or movies, I still knew that I wanted to […]Read More Mugging Muggles
On a narrow road jutting off a rural highway in Central Louisiana is a massive detention center, tucked behind towering pine trees in aptly named Pineville, Louisiana. Rising nearly as high are rows and rows of barbed wire fences with watchtowers placed every few hundred feet. Besides the flags flapping in the wind, the only […]Read More Dispatches from the Deep South
2017 was a year on the move. My camera took me ~60,000 air miles around the world where I got to see and photograph some incredible people and places. But the 1,000 or so miles from Texas back to the Midwest and to my new home in Chicago were the most exciting. Here’s a little collection […]Read More Best Photos of 2017

The trip itself was a fast-paced tour that had us cruising across a large portion of the country to see many of Morocco’s famous sights.Read More Morocco: A Visual Feast
South by Southwest is over and done. The crowds are gone. The traffic is better. My sleep pattern is coming back. And my lower back is destroyed. It’s hard to recap a week where Miley Cyrus sprayed me with champagne through a squirt gun and Big Sean tripped over me while trying to get off […]Read More SXSW 2015 in Photos

So these photos have nothing to do with each other, except that I had a photo pipe dream that the Boy Scouts parade would somehow wander over to the Undie Run and I’d get a great reaction shot. It never happened, so now I’m just mashing the photos together. It was a good day for some […]Read More Unrelated
