Hot Cold Ghana Light

Approaching the tail end of leading the first program and completing my first loop of two around Ghana. Made it to Cape Coast today—a pretty visually fascinating city with lots of color, narrow streets and different architecture from the rest of the places I’ve stayed in Ghana thus far. Has a lot of visual similarities to […]

Mole National Park Safari (and more)

There really isn’t a way to describe walking among a herd of wild elephants without sounding pretentious. But I’ll try anyways. Yesterday the group went on two safaris—one walking, the other riding on the roof of a safari jeep. Both were incredible. I kept remarking to the students to appreciate how many different animals we […]

Ghana Week 2

Second week in Ghana. Spent a few days in Bolgatanga, which is in the Northern region. Had the opportunity to meet local tribal elders before climbing their sacred hills…we also stopped in some local markets to pick up fabric to make traditional Ghanian clothing. We head to Mole National Park tomorrow morning for a safari.

Madison Glow Run

Mifflin 2014

Despite excellent weather and relaxed police presence, the Mifflin Street Block Party failed to deliver big numbers. As I expected, the party was even smaller than last year. I stopped by for a little over an hour and shot during what should have been the peak hours of attendance. If there was a photo to […]

Photos of the Year 2013

It just doesn’t feel like the end of December until every media outlet has put out their lists of important things that transpired in the last year. I suppose I’m adding to the noise. This year I took roughly 40,000 photos (that’s how many I imported at least). Compared to most professional photojournalists, I shoot […]

Packers vs. Steelers

It wasn’t as snowy as the Lions vs. Eagles game a couple weeks ago, but the game was still snowy and muddy so I’ll take it. Overall I was pretty happy with my whole take yesterday, including my pregame stuff. Although, perhaps more frustrating than the Packers loss was missing Eddie Lacy’s play-of-the-game leap into […]
